WPWMA Facility Upgrades & Expansion

WPWMA staff have identified several development concepts and facility modifications incorporating the future needs of the WPWMA in terms of addressing regional growth, changes in regulations, increasing diversion rates, improving operational efficiencies and maintaining compatibility between operations and neighboring developments.

At their October 10, 2016 meeting, the WPWMA Board of Directors approved a contract with CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc. to conduct a wide range of master planning and environmental review services related to potential future uses of the WPWMA’s properties.

Project updates and documents will be available here as they become available.

Landfill Gas Collection System Improvements

The WPWMA is preparing for an upgrade to the landfill gas collection control system that was originally built in 1995. The project is anticipated to fully accommodate anticipated landfill gas flows over the next 15 years and optimize operational efficiency by providing full redundancy of key system components to ensure uninterrupted operations. Improvements are scheduled to be started in the fall of 2016 and completed in summer of 2017.
